@NYerintransit more like a bummer speech. Looked like he saw that he wasn’t doing a great job and that he wasn’t going to get re-elected and in a sad attempt to use honesty as a means to convince people to do better

This was such a retarded speech.

Another way of looking at it is that Carter was more independent while Reagan was a corporate PR guy, ruled by such people as Merrill Lynch’s CEO and also Treasury Secretary. We have to face it, politicians are just spokesmen for those who control them. In a democracy they are representatives of the people.. right now they are representatives of corporations and elites.

what a brilliant man. i agree that he wasnt the best president, but considering the issues he had to deal with…at least he attempted to make a difference. he was honest and genuinely wanted to help the people. and i find that extremely refreshing.:D

Agreed. He and Gerald Ford were the most honest presidents the US has had in modern times and that is what killed their careers

Well Ford lost to Carter :P

And Carter lost to Reagan… whats that got to do with anything?

oh, it was a response to someone who said that Ford and Carter were both cut from the same cloth. That it was tragic Ford lost the election. Well Ford losing it meant giving life to Carter :P You couldn’t have both of them succeed.
